Passionate Worship

“Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.” Luke 24:52
One of the most central ways we're Connecting Faith to Life is by offering our community
worship experiences that are relevant, engaging, appropriately challenging and experiential.
We worship in both blended/classic and contemporary forms always keeping Jesus Christ
at the center of our attention and scripture's message of hope before us.
You'll be welcomed at any of our services in comfortable dress, but our 11:15 a.m.
Relaxed Worship service is geared to be especially relaxed.  A clean, bright and professionally staffed nursery is available during both services and the Sunday School hour at no cost to you.  Children's church is available every week at both services.
We generally celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month at both services.  We regularly offer oil anointing and we always welcome opportunities to pray alongside or for our friends before, during, or after services.  Look at the FAQ page if you have questions about communion, baptism etc.
Whether you worship best through classic forms (9:00 AM) or in more contemporary ways (11:15 AM), Independence First United Methodist Church aims to have a worship service right for everyone.
9 AM - Classic Worship led by hymns and choir
10:10 AM - Sunday school for all ages
11:15 AM - Relaxed Worship with rock-driven praise (questions, crying babies and wiggly kids welcome!)
** Children's Church is available during 9 a.m. and 11:15  a.m. service.
If you'd like to participate in one of our music ministries (Choir, praise band) or offer a special music, please don't hesitate to let us know!
